- All of the forbidden items while fasting involve physical activities, except one: the actions of the tongue
- By including the restraint of the tongue, God is opening a spiritual door to a higher dimension of fasting
- Controlling our tongues plays a large part in maintaining relations around us
- The gift of speech is the largest blessing of God upon human beings
- God makes sure to point out that He has given us two eyes, but with eyelids. Similarly he has given us a tongue, but also lips to close. Control is everything
- All current problems in the Middle East started with words
- Illogical attacks of supposed rightful Muslims upon other innocent Muslims inside a mosque during prayers
- Constant interference of outside forces attempting to influence events, which always results in unintended consequences
- The dangers of verbally abusing other groups or minorities, and the potential backfire upon your own people

"Spoken words aren't only a domestic issue; implications are on a global level. Look at the bloodbath across Muslim lands. Where does it start? It starts with words. It starts with labelling people as 'kafir'. And it ends with massacres of innocent people gathered in masajid, in Ramadhan, during Friday prayers. Words have an impact."
